| Drinking Water and Exercise |
| Since our bodies consist of up to 70% water, it should seem obvious that drinking water is essential for most of our body functions like metabolism, digestion of food and regulating body temperature. However, what some people forget is the importance of incorporating drinking water and exercise. When we exercise we need even more drinking water to help fuel our bodies and prevent dehydration, especially in warm weather. During exercise our bodies sweat to cool off. Through this process the body loses up to four cups of water per hour, which has to be replaced by drinking water. The common signs of dehydration are joint pain, headaches, fatigue and difficulty concentrating. Not only does dehydration lower your level of productivity, but it can also be fatal. A dehydrated athlete's body can't cool off properly, which can lead to heatstroke and heat exhaustion. As an athlete, your performance will be tops if you continually incorporate drinking water and exercise. Don't wait until you get thirsty – drinking water regularly during exercise will allow you to enjoy the extensive health benefits of drinking water. Home Page | FAQs | Glossary | Contact Us |
